  1. How do I hit print for just the recipe? When I print it gives me all the color stuff on the side that I don’t need and uses a lot of color ink.

    • Eugenia, You have to highlight just the part you want printed, then when your print page comes up, select “selection” , “apply” and print. I hope this helps you. If you look in the left sidebar of this blog there is a post about how to do it, showing you in pictures. Just click on the picture in the left sidebar where it says, “Are you having trouble printing recipes on this site?”. I hope this helps you.

      • Another way is take the above 1 step further (and you won’t print the colored background. Go ahead & highlight what you want to print go to edit & “copy ” or right click & select “copy”. Open up your text program (Word, Wordpad, Notepad, etc.) and right click “paste”. This way when you print from that program you won’t waste that expensive ink by printing the background color. Hope this helps. 🙂

      • Thanks, Lisa! Have a good week.

    • just highlight what you want to print, right click to print, then print selected area

    • By the way, I tried your fluffy cream biscuits last night, and my family thought someone else had made them! They were terrific. I’m going to make this my “go to” biscuit recipe from now on… 🙂

  2. This is my favorite biscuit recipe, but I have never put sugar in them. Yum!

  3. I could eat that whole basket! Those look wonderful. And I like that there’s just a little sugar in the mix.

  4. I also could eat them all, I am a push over for biscuits with butter. I have never used heavy cream to make biscuits but I am going to try.

  5. These look beautiful and so simple! I’ll have to try these. thanks for a great recipe!

  6. Nearly impossible to get a biscuit like this in Europe. I found one place that does it properly. Please send me some of yours 🙂

  7. Hi There! I am new to your blog. I found you on Face book! These biscuits look wonderful. I never thought of using heavy whipping cream to the batter. I need to try your recipe. Being from the South myself….I love homemade biscuits 🙂

  8. This is the recipe that I use for biscuits.
I found it on Paula Deen’s website. They are super light & yummy!

    • I checked Paula’s site and the cooking time is different but that’s all on the two recipes. I don’t know where I got this one but I don’t think it was from Paula. I don’t usually watch her show or go to her site, so I would not have her recipe unless I got it somewhere else. I’m sure it is probably on lots of different sites if you checked because I had it in an old recipe box where I had written it down. I think I got it out of an old cookbook but could not swear to that. You cannot copyright a recipe and there are hundreds out there that are similar or alike where people copy them.

  9. I’m going to try these this week is there no kind of shortening or oil or lard in them? What makes them rise?

    • No, Shawn, there is no shortening or oil or lard. I made these this morning and I cut the sugar to 1 teaspoon and the cream to 1 cup. Mixed it with a spoon and my hands and it seemed to me they rose even higher this way. I could tell no difference in the taste by using less milk and sugar.

  10. I made the biscuits but instead of rolling them put and cutting them out I did them by hand they were ok but next time I’m going to do the the other way because they fell apart

  11. Made these this morning but didn’t have any self rising flour so used Plain flour and baking powder. They didn’t rise very high but they really tasted light and fluffy and next time i make them i will buy self rising flour. They are so quick and easy to make. Thankyou for the recipe

  12. I just took these out of the oven…they are superb! I didn’t have any self-rising flour so I just made some myself by adding baking powder and salt to all-purpose. Love these!

  13. I want the recipe for biscuits put in a 8inch pan with butter on the bottom an the dough on top an cut into 9 biscuits an bake
